Studio
Currently located in Inverness, Nightforest Studios will soon be moving to a brand new world class destination studio in the rolling hills of Nicasio, California, across the way from Skywalker Ranch. The studio is designed as a multi-function facility, equipped for all facets of music production, film and video scoring, sound design, Foley, ADR and feature film mixing to picture. A video edit suite will be included. The kitchen is designed as a cooking show set.
The studio, designed by former TEC:ton engineering founding manager John Neff, in collaboration with studio architect Peter Maurer of PCM:T (former partner in ‘studio bau:ton’), features top quality acoustic design integrated into an architectural country style, relaxed working atmosphere, in one of the most beautiful areas of the country, Marin County, Northern California.
Nightforest Studios will feature a large control room equipped with state of the art vintage and modern equipment, including a full-range 5.1 surround monitoring system. The Control Room connects to an isolation booth holding a concert grand piano, and a Tracking Room configured for any sized band or a 30-piece string or mixed orchestra. A conductor’s podium is raised at one corner of the studio, to facilitate film scoring and music project sweetening sessions. A 16-seat professional Screening Theatre is located beneath the studio.
Perfectly situated in the San Francisco Bay Area, just 20-some minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge, the studio sits on a ridge top overlooking Loma Alta Ridge and Skywalker and Big Rock Ranches, all set in permanent open space, for an unadulterated fabulous view.
