Chief Engineer and Producer, John Neff, is widely known in the music and film business. As a recording artist and engineer since the 1960's in music, radio, film, and the technical designer of numerous world class studios including David Lynch's Asymmetrical Studio in Hollywood and Walter Becker's Hyperbolic Sound in Maui, Neff brings decades of music history as well as vast and varied experience in composition, entertainment, technical design, engineering and production. Neff recently engineered the current hit CD “Revelation”, for the legendary band “Journey” and mixed the recent feature film, “Dark Reel”.

Nightforest Studios is a multi-purpose venue supporting composition, recording, mixing and mastering for music projects. We provide composition, ADR, SFX, Foley, location sound services and Re-Mix in stereo and 5.1 surround for full feature film projects. Plus we offer concept design, recording and production of lifestyle programming such as cooking and celebrity interview shows. The New Media Technology division will leverage the studio's production capabilities and creative content to address growing markets for advertising, branding, commercials, jingles and interactive media. The very large sound effects library is complemented by extensive experience in sound design and creation of custom SFX and Foley to support all aspects of Nightforest Studios' production and content offerings.

Nightforest Studios is situated in Marin County, one of the most beautiful areas of the country, just 25 miles north of San Francisco, CA. The 20 acre property borders on hundreds of acres of open space and offers a relaxed working atmosphere with world class amenities.

Twofold; both the composition of a film's musical score, and the recording thereof. A composer 'scores' a film by writing the music themes and cues, a recording engineer/producer 'scores' the film in recording and mixing such music.
